comic book goodness!  I'm going to try to post a new

piece of the puzzle here on my art blog every day 

until the whole book is pulled out of the shipping

boxes.  So check here often for every sneak peek!

DUNE ADVENTURE IN OUR FRONT YARD!

Our friends and fellow cartoonists, Joe Quinones & 

Maris Wicks, came to visit us on the coast.  I dragged 

them out in the rain to traverse the dunes that separate 

our lake from the ocean.  Laura was smart enough to 

stay home and make her delicious stew and Jello cake

for us.  Thick mist hid my usual landmarks that would 

lead us to the "tree tunnel".  There is a thick wall of 

forest right before you get to the beach.  The Parks

Department has carved out a tunnel that is very hard to 

find.  If you miss it, you wont be reaching the beach.

Well, you'll see we found it, but it was flooded.  Some 

chilly wading was required.  I was happy to discover 

that some walking bridges were just added to get us

out of the deeper parts of the flooded trail.  Good times!

LOOK AWAY! ARTISTS DANCIN' & SINGIN'!

Pal Jeff Newelt just shared these pics with me, and 

thought it would be fun to do the same.

I think this is Paul and I singing Pink Floyd's "Comfortably 

Numb.  We did a few together so I'm not positive which.

Paul moved David Mack to switch on his "Dance Machine" 

mode.  Truly a wonderful sight to behold.  Laura is 

clearly diggin' the happenin' scene.  Pure ecstasy!

Yours truly and PP crank out another duet.  I can make 

out the lyrics "dares you" on the screen.  What song is that?

Special "no prize" for first correct guess.

I'm hoping to get some photos/video of some of the other 

groovy folks who were there, like my guru Bob Schreck

performing "Aqualung".  Or Heidi McDonald blowing us all

away with a crushing song from "Jesus Christ Superstar"?

Although the contest is over, I thought some of you still

might enjoy seeing this "censored" panel which happens 

immediately before the previous teaser I posted.  All 

set for an early April release, so you can start counting

the days to solve this particular mystery (and get struck

with several others) in the MADMAN GIANT-SIZE 

SUPER-GINCHY SPECIAL!  I'll be regularly posting 

other sneak peeks and teasers of pin-ups, my story, and 

the three crazy cool backup stories...so tell your friends 

and check back often!  It's gonna be SWELL!

the best it could be.  Over-sized and 

over 1000 pages, this baby is now 

printed and should be on shelves by 

March 16th.  It contains the entire

& Spaceman one-shots, the entire 

MADMAN Atomic Comics series 

and more extras than you can shake 

a stick at (but why would you do

WHAT'S IN FRANK'S PANTS CONTEST!

Working hard in my "Non-Zombie" free time to finish

up my story for April's MADMAN Giant-Size Super

Ginchy Special!  Here are a couple samples of my 

most recent Madman art.  The pencils just came off 

the drawing board moments ago.  I thought it might

be fun to have a contest where you can try to guess 

what has found its way into Frank "Madman" Einstein's 

pants.  The first correct guess (VERY unlikely) will 

win a HC book signed by Laura and yours truly. 

Everyone else will have to wait until April to find out.

Bestest buddy, Darwyn Cooke, suggested I add some

"behind the pages" kind of stuff so I threw together this

little slide show compiling the last couple years. I mostly

use a Flip Cam now, so I don't have single shots of a

lot of the folks and experiences I'd like to show here.

But for now here are some snaps of our adventures with

friends and family including doing THE Casa Bonita

and Red Rocks with first collaborator Steve Seagle,

tearing up Montreal with Dar & Mar, Courtney Taylor

and Laura in the electric Tesla sports car, recording

"Nasty Snack" at the Dandy Warhol's Odditorium,

hiding in a dark scary bar with Al Columbia, a post-

Barcelona reunion with Craig Thompson and Kelby,

in Manhattan with the Bonds, the David Bowie bust I

made and gave to Shelly Bond, and drinking some

Moloko Plus with dance machine and Droog David Mack.

Also childhood heroes, Peter Brady, Batman, and a Monkee!

Look for Paolo Rivera, Joe Quinones, Maris Wicks,

Scott Adsit, Brian Huberd, Eric Stephenson, Joe Keatinge,

our kids, our kid's kids, Karen Berger, Dr. Ben Saunders,

Bernie Mireault, and a guy named Jamie S. Rich who

frightens children even though he smells just like candy.

One of the best things about living in Portland this past 

year was actually moving back home to the coast after

a renovation which allowed me my dream studio space.
