SCORE!

Being of the obsessive collector breed (I'm sure many of you can relate),
I've wanted one of these 60s ball chairs since I was a little kid and saw the
movie TOMMY for the first time.  I even drew Frank Einstein in one for the
cover to POPGUN no.1.  Brian Michael Bendis was just too darn mean to
sell me his, but we finally found one for an unbelievably low price and
snagged it and it arrived today!  Here's a picture of the love of my life with
my prized Laura sitting in it.  Oops...I mean...jus' kiddin'...flip that. Heh heh.

And here's Frank Einstein sitting in one before I had proper reference:

EDIE SAWYER LIVES...

...on this billboard anyway.  Just finished this commission.  It was great fun!
I also just sent my "art guy", Simon Miller, a big box O' art.  It might take
him a while to sort through everything, but if anyone is interested in my
original art this is a good place to start:

iZOMBIE COVER STORY!

Check this out!  Aaron Ragan-Fore wrote a story on iZombie for the local
"Happenin' Hipster" Eugene Weekly. And the story came out today as the
cover feature no less.  Since almost all of the events in iZombie take place
in Eugene, it's fun to see locals take note and seek out the real locations.

FF vs SILVER SURFER!

Artwork that I pencilled and brush inked directly onto a blank cover.
And Frank Einstein on a card.
Just finished these to auction for one of my favorite causes:

MADMAN & THE ATOMICS IN 3D!

No, it's not new details on The Madman Movie.  It's three nifty "poor man's 3D" imagery that our pal, Christian LeBlanc made.  Select/click on the them individually. The first two images you simply need to be about two feet from the screen and gently cross your eyes until the two images become three.  Then focus on the center image.  It might help to block out the outer two images with your hands.  Groovy, right?  It worked for me almost instantly.  It took Laura a couple tries.  The third image is a classic 3D image where you'll need to dig out a pair of the classic red/blue frames.   Have fun!  But don't blame us if your eyes get stuck.

ALLRED ARTIST RETREAT FOR SALE ON OREGON COAST!

We moved to the big city a couple years ago and don't get out to our lake house on the Oregon Coast as much as we'd like to anymore.  So we're putting it up for sale, and at a "chance of a lifetime" price of $399,000.  We hope the next owners will get as big a kick out of it as we did.  Have a look:
Get your mail by boat in paradise on the Oregon Coast!  Boat and road access (though a 4-wheel drive vehicle wouldn't hurt).  This is the perfect place to escape and let your creativity soar.  Most of X-Statix and MADMAN Atomic Comics was drawn and colored here.  The GEAR also recorded most of their second album here with not a single noise complaint off-the-grid.  On Tenmile Lake connected to the famous Oregon Dunes and coast near the resort town of Lakeside, Oregon, about halfway between Washington and California.  Completely fenced/gated to the lake, four bedrooms (2 w/King-Size beds), four walk-in closets, two full baths, spa, decks galore (including built-in trampoline/play area & beach deck),  flat screen TVs, satellite, hi-speed internet, new appliances, new roof, stone floors downstairs, cherry floors upstairs, kayaks, custom furnishings included.
If you'd like to see this beauty in person (photos don't come close to doing it justice),
call Agent Russ Hendrickson's cell# 541-404-7595 or

Tell 'em The Allreds sent ya!

AQUAMAN RULES!

Did this recently just for fun...

JIM RUGG IN "THE MONSTER"!

Our last sneaky peek inside THE MADMAN
20th ANNIVERSARY MONSTER is from
artiste JIM RUGG.  Check this baby out!  I
worked with Jim on the ONE MODEL
NATION graphic novel written by DANDY
WARHOLS frontman, Courtney Taylor.
And do yourself a favor and pick up the super
cool AFRODISIAC book he did with Brian
Maruca.  And now, I'm thrilled that Jim is our
last guest artist on iZOMBIE in issue #24.
I've seen the pencils and they are KILLER!
To DIE for! MmmAH-Hah-HAH!

MADMAN MONSTER FLIES OFF SHELVES!

This week has been a blast!  The response of
THE MADMAN 20th ANNIVERSARY MONSTER
finally hitting store shelves has been very gratifying
and even moving.  It's especially thrilling to get
reports that's it's moving off shelves despite it's
hugemongous size and matching price.  Now
whenever anyone asks me why I love comics
so much, all I will have to do is plop a copy of
"The Monster" in front of them and send them
searching the work of all involved.  Woo hoo!

THE "MADMAN MONSTER" IS IN STORES TODAY!!!

The wait is over!  This and so much more is in this massive
"Monster" of a book.  With every turn of the page you'll
slap your forehead and say, "How'd he get THAT?!
Allred is either much beloved or he has a deep persuasive
blackmail file on these artists and legends!"  Closer to the
"blackmail file", obviously.  For instance, this (partial peek)
jam generated by the wonderful pencils of Michel Fiffe,
inked by the dastardly Michael Allred, and colored
by the impossibly beautiful Laura Allred.  This illustrates an
essay on over 20 years of indy creations in comics by the
esteemed Adam McGovern.  Wait til' you see it in its glorious
11 x 17 format!  "HOW?!" "INCONCEIVABLE!"

CHRIS SAMNEE IN "THE MONSTER"!

Love this guy!  What talent!  What skills!  What the what?!
This and much more in the Madman 20th Anniversary Monster!
Be the first in line or suffer those crazy prices when this baby
evaporates off the shelves of your favorite comic shop.  Still
time to order if your shop was caught short-handed.  But act
fast!  Once folks see just how amazingly beautiful this book is...
WHOOOSH!

TODAY IS THE DAY!

The MADMAN 20th ANNIVERSARY MONSTER
is supposed to be in stores today!  WOO HOO!

AARON CONLEY MUST BE WATCHED!

Aaron Conley is one of my very favorite up and comers!
You can check out more of his work and his collaborations
with Damon Gentry at:  http://www.invademyprivacy.com.
Their "Next SECRET project from a major publisher"
is knockin' me out and I'm eager for more!  You'll guess
what I mean when you see Aaron's "Madman Monster"
piece in full when it hits shelves in a few days.  Here's a tease:

MATT ALLISON CALAMITY!

One of the most wonderfully weird discovery's of recent
memory was stumbling across the artwork of Matthew
Allison (thanks to future superstars Damon Gentry and
Aaron Conley, more on them soon) and his gnarly gem,
the self-published CALAMITY OF CHALLENGE.
Do what you can to find a copy and prepare to hide
under your covers  afterwards.  The (any day now)
"Madman Monster" includes a piece by Matt and a
Jam piece where I drew Matt's "Calamity" characters
dancing it up with Frank "Madman" Einstein in the
monstrously hugely appropriate 11 x 17 HC format.
Dig it!!

DANIEL ACUNA IN THE "MADMAN MONSTER!"

Check out this little slice of stellar artist, Daniel
Acuna's "Madman Monster" contribution.  Not
too much longer 'til you can see this and
everything else in all its glory.  Just days away!

TOO MUCH SHANNON WHEELER!

I have it on good authority that
THE MADMAN 20th ANNIVERSARY MONSTER!
is going to hit the shelves of your favorite local comic
shop by the first week of February.  Bug 'em if you
haven't already.  This baby will sell out fast and you
will kick yourself if you don't have a copy  to prop up
that short table leg.  PLUS you won't have the entire
"Mr. New Yorker Cartoonist" Shannon Wheeler
masterpiece previewed below.

MATT WAGNER STRIP!

Matt Wagner wrote the first fan letter I ever got before
anything of mine was ever published!
Actually it was a very encouraging post card.  My first
book, DEAD AIR, was coming from Slave Labor
Graphics based in San Jose, and Matt was living there
at the time.  SLG publisher, Dan Vado, showed him
my stuff and Matt gave me the biggest boost of confidence
I could have received via a post card to Germany, where
I was living and working as a TV reporter for AFRTS.
We both ended up moving to Oregon (my home state)
at roughly the same time and he's been one of our best
pals ever since.  Now we're even in a book club together.
Other than my big brother, Lee, he may even be the
most well-read guy I've ever known.  I think he reads
about two dozen books every week.  Theres' no keeping
up with the guy!  It was a huge thrill to get his strip for
the "MADMAN MONSTER".  Here's a sneak peek:

JAY STEPHENS SNEAK PEEK!

Emmy-winner Jay Stephens has been ripping me off
for years.  It's very satisfying to see him finally pay
some restitution with his super swell strip for The
"Madman Monster"  It's a beaut!  Sincerely, we love
Jay and encourage everyone to hunt down everything
he's done.  http://www.jaystephens.com/
