CRAIG THOMPSON STUDY #2

Does this have something to do with MADMAN?
In Craig's brilliant mind it does.  But you'll have to
wait to put all the pieces together.

THE MADMAN 20th ANNIVERSARY MONSTER!

    (not final cover)
Okay, we'll call this the "official" announcement. This is the BIGGEST of the BIG and should be coming at you sometime around Thanksgiving (it's almost completely done, so confidence is high on making that goal).  Here's the skinny:  This baby will be published at the enormous size  of approximately 11 x 17 inches in Hard Cover.  If you saw the Wednesday Comics collection you'll have a very good idea of the format, only FATTER.  This very special book will feature my biggest and most important Frank "Madman" Einstein story yet (no hype here), as well as ALL-NEW "monster-size" strips from all three Hernandez Bros., Matt Wagner, Bernie Mireault, Joe Quinones, Frank Quitely, Peter Bagge, Dean Haspiel, Dave Cooper, Eric Powell, Darwyn Cooke, Philip Bond & Peter Milligan, Jay Stephens, Erik Larsen, David Mack, Pat McEown, Craig Thompson, Paul Pope, Jeff Smith, Steven T. Seagle & Teddy Kristiansen, Michael Avon Oeming, Al Columbia, and Kyle Baker!  There's a framing device written by Jamie S. Rich drawn by Valentino and myself, an incredible essay on independent characters by Adam McGovern illustrated by Michel Fiffe and myself, and then...THEN every single Madman/Atomics pin-up from the past 20 years including Kirby, Toth, Kubert, Moebius, BWS, Stout, Kaluta, Vess, Stevens, Miller, Simonson, Byrne, Chadwick, Schultz, Rude, Aragones, Nowlan, Bolland, Ware, Clowes, Seth, Woodring, Sale, Cassaday, Acuna, Noto, Grampa, Pander, McCloud, Chiarello, Dorkin, Hewlett, Hughes, Gibbons, Darrow, Adams, Mignola, Lee, Silvestri, Harris, Bolton, Brereton, Thompson, Bradstreet, Gianni, Johnson, Burns, Ross, Morrison, Silverman, Moore, Morse, Mahfood, Russell, Rivoche, Cherkas, Hampton, Sienkiewicz, Silke, Hempel, Groening, Watson, Wray, Lark, Cho, Blevins, Manley, Bone, Del Carmen, Timm, and many MANY more!  HUGE!

iZOMBIE no.16 SNEAK!

Here's a partial sneak peek of the iZOMBIE
cover painting I just finished.  Until the
official release of the full cover, can you
guess what Gwen and Horatio might be
a-scared of?

BETO IN THE "MONSTER"!

So, what is "THE MONSTER"?  More teases to come
before the official announcement.  Today, a slice of
Gilbert "Beto" Hernandez's rockin' contribution.  If you're
like me and can't get enough "Los Bros. magic", make
sure you run to your local comic shop and pick up the
brand new issue of iZOMBIE to see Gilbert's star turn
as the "Special Guest Artist" in issue no.12.  DIG IT!

WHAT'S THIS FOR?

You might recognize the signature on this
art excerpt, but it is only the tip of a monster
iceberg.  We'll have an official announcement
soon on what will surely be the biggest
MADMAN publication ever.  Stay tuned!

FLOATING WORLD EVENT!

Droogs At Floating World
What a blast!  We are so grateful to everyone who came out, especially those who braved the mic and belted out something during the karaoke extravaganza.  We even had a ringer in the crowd when surprise guest, Courtney Taylor of the DANDY WARHOLS, showed everyone how to CRUSH Jethro Tull's Aqualung with his very own Courtney-ized version.  It was swell seeing old friends show their support while making a bunch of new friends (who will someday be old friends.  Everything has a beginning).  Jamie S. Rich was our K.J. and kicked off the singing with the first song and kept everyone happy and in line with his strict harsh ways.  We cracked open several cases of MADMAN: Atomica and completely sold out!  The evening was above and beyond anything we could have hoped for.  Thank you everybody!  Let's do it again soon. By the way glitter-rock compadre, Christian Lipski, took the full-length photo of your humble narrator in the Droog outfit. Special "no-prize" for whoever can name the most faces in the slideshow. This "no-prize" might actually be worth something...GO!

INKING SINNOTT!

I had the extreme honor of being inked by the
legendary Joe Sinnott when I pencilled an Untold
Tales of Spider-Man story written by Kurt Busiek.
Now an Inkwell Awards fundraising auction has
provided me with the opportunity to switch roles
and ink these two kicky Sinnott drawings.  Big fun!

THB LUB!

I just finished up this monster as a gift for
our pal, Paul Pope.  His THB remains one
of my all-time favorite series.  He has
created an amazingly rich and detailed world.
His Mars is the Mars that I imagine Ziggy
Stardust hails from.  I look forward to
the day when a definitive collection as big as
this art (I drew this on my last sheet of
gigantic "Metamorpho paper") is available
